The MYF

The Muslim Youth Fellowship offers a 12-week placement with a City Council office, providing hands-on experience in municipal governance. Fellows receive intensive training and mentorship to build their political skills and deepen their civic engagement. Ideal candidates are committed to community impact and eager to enhance their leadership and political literacy.

  • The Muslim Youth Fellowship program provides fellows with the opportunity to work directly with elected officials in Toronto City Council. Fellows engage in research, advocacy, policy development, and casework. The program offers hands-on experience in municipal governance, helping participants develop practical political skills and understand the inner workings of local government.

  • Fellows undergo skill-building workshops that focus on political and professional development. These sessions cover topics such as advocacy, networking, and effective campaigning. In addition to training, fellows collaborate on community-impact projects. Whether it's event planning, research, or media initiatives, these projects address pressing social or educational needs, with expert mentors guiding their progress.

  • Each fellow is placed in a 12-week part-time position with a City Council office, where they engage in diverse tasks such as case work, event management, and administrative support. Throughout the program, fellows receive one-on-one mentorship from professionals who help them set goals, develop skills, and build networks that will aid their personal and career growth.
